

These photographs are from an assignment intended to give us some practice with either freezing or blurring motion, and with extended and shallow depth of field. I was able to borrow a telephoto lens and capture this image of an osprey leaving the nest. I didn’t have a tripod, so I braced my elbows on my knees to hold the camera steady. I used a wide angle macro lens for the photo of the tomato.
